The AFHRiCARE Partnership, a new Wellcome Trust Discovery Award, brings together a multidisciplinary team of lead researchers from the universities of Oxford (Prof. Mike English and Ass. Prof. Geoff Wong), Witwatersrand in South Africa (Prof. Laetitia Rispel) and Makerere in Uganda (Prof. Freddie Ssengooba and Dr Raymond Tweheyo) with senior scientists from the KEMRI-Wellcome Programme in Kenya (Dr Jacquie Oliwa) and elsewhere.
